Who you ring when it goes wrong

On most jobs the answer is nobody, because six trades each hold one piece and the gaps between them are yours. On a project he takes on, the groundwork and the brickwork are his own hands and everything after it is his to book, sequence and check.

Whole projects, answered

If yours is not here, ring and ask it.

What does taking on the whole job actually mean?

He does the groundwork and the shell himself, and books, sequences and checks the trades that follow — electrician, plumber, plasterer, roofer, joiner. You hold one conversation instead of six.

Do you use your own trades?

Yes. Electricians he uses all the time, and the rest are people he has worked alongside. Nobody turns up who he has not seen work.

Will you take on a derelict property?

That is the kind he likes. He is on a refurbishment now that goes back to the owner finished, ready to sell.

Residential or commercial?

He would rather do residential and that is most of the work, but he will look at anything — tell him what it is.
